So Lucky!!

I feel so lucky today..... I recently won a giveaway on the uber talented Kim Henkel's blog and I am over the moon with how gorgeous this item is.
The pretty Luminary that I won is featured in the current issue of Green Craft Magazine too.

Kim's piccie:

I took a piccie but it just doesn't do justice to how amazing and pretty this Luminary actually is, so I stole one of Kim's piccies to show it off better, because amongst her other skills she also takes fabulous photographs.

At night time it gives off the friendliest glow i've ever seen.

Kim's Piccie:

If you haven't been to Kim's blog before, boy are you in for a treat, this lady creates the most gorgeous things you have ever seen, she makes all kinds of wonderous goodies: handmade books, luminaries, carved stamps, cards, jewellery, art.....this lady does it all and she does it beautifully.

Kim's blog gives off the kind of warmth and cosyness that is also abundant throughout her work, visiting her blog is pure pleasure every time.

If you haven't been before don't wait any longer go now :o)

A tale of wolves and lost mojo's :o)

This was the first girly painted of the week and came about because we had just watched "red riding hood" on dvd last weekend and I was totally in the mood for more of miss red and her wolfie's so I got my paint's out.
The reason her hair is like this is pretty funny actually, I managed to spook myself the other week, thinking I had a spider on my arm when all it was was my hair tickling away at my arm, my hair has had a huge growth spurt recently and sometimes I forget how long it is.....silly me ;o)
Anyway I put the 2 together and here she is, little red imagining all sorts of crazy things in the dark woods.

Imagination:
Not content with one little red, I was still in the mood and decided to paint up another. (in fact I could of done a whole week's worth of little red's, she is certainly one of my favourite things to paint at this time of year)
Apparently my wolfie in this one looks like our mini schnauzer doggie "Shadow" according to my kids, so the title of this piece reflects that lol ;o)
She is my personal favourite of the week regardless of what my kids have to say :o)

In the shadows: SOLD THANK YOU!!

Finally leaving the little red's behind and after the lovely Claire Barone returned my lost mojo to me, I got to painting again with an all out Autumnal feeling in this one, a mix of leafy greens plus antlers, it makes me want to run to the trees and play in the leaves.

Forest Echoes:

This one is the first of my winter offerings for this year and I have plenty of ideas for more, she is painted on an 8x10 inch flat canvas board and is pretty in pink :o)

Let it snow:

Last but not least is this little lady on a 5x7 inch flat canvas board.
I saw a lady in the street wearing a wonderful yellow cardigan last week and just knew I had to paint a girly with one similar, yellow is definately not a colour I could wear but I think it suits this girly, what do you think?

Clara:

Well that's this week's update done, as per usual everything above is now available in my etsy shop for viewing or buying ;o)

See you again next week

looky what I got :)

YAY!!!!! my mail art from the lovely Mindy Lacefield of Tim's Sally turned up yesterday morning, cheering up my letter box.
I really love the whole 'mail art' concept and I will definately be hosting one here on my blog.....BUT..... I am going to wait until after Christmas to do it.....WHY?..... well I don't know about you but I always suffer some sort of 'Winter Blue's' and it usually hits me around late January time, so I thought what better way to keep the blue's away than to do a little mail art exchange and make my letter box happy as well as me :o)
So do look out on my blog for that coming sometime in January and if on the off chance I forget just give me a nudge and remind me ;o)

The cutest birdy you ever did see from the lovely Mindy Lacefield :o)

Mixed bag

This week was a real mixed bag as far as styles go, they all have very different looks and colour palettes going on :o)

As per usual they are all now available in my etsy shop

I nearly always have one that stands out as being my favourite of the week and this week it is this little lady, she was the first painting done of the week and a firm favourite with me :o)

Secrets of the night: SOLD THANK YOU!!

This is the first of 4 aceo's done this week each one with their own unique personalities showing through

Rose:

I love the way this girly turned out, on a 5x7 inch flat canvas board, the background was painted with many layers of paint colours then hand stamped with white paint on the top, it looks like old fashioned wallpaper and I love it!!

Give a little love:

The second of my Aceo girls with really deep, rich colours and shabby hair...yummy!!

Mirabelle:

My first and only Halloween painting this year, lots of textures and layers of paint on an 8x10 inch flat canvas board

Halloween Moon: SOLD THANK YOU!!

Such a sweet face this girl has, she is painted on a 6x6 cradled wood panel (I only have one wood panel left to paint on now then they are all gone)

Delilah:

Aceo number 3, I love the deep purple with the white in this one, i think these are colours I will most definately use together again!!

Judith: SOLD THANK YOU!!

Painted on an 8x10 inch flat canvas board this lady has a big personality so I left her with a stark white background with a few flourishes and a ton of texture :o)

Emerge:

The fourth and final aceo of the week

Hazel:

Last week as well as my circusy girls I also made this mailart for the lovely Mindy Lacefield of Tim's Sally who is having a mailart exchange on her blog, I didn't want to show it until she had received it but now I know she has, here is the envelope I sent her (I photoshopped out her address):

And this is the small painting on chipboard I sent in the envelope:

I really enjoyed taking part in the mail art thing and may in the future host one here on my blog too, I would love to hear what you guys think about mailart? have you taken part before? do you do it often? (so not a rude question!!) has it been a good/bad experience etc.....tell me, tell me ;o)

I hope you enjoyed this week's work

Roll up roll up the circus is in town ;o)

At the start of last week I was severely lacking in inspiration, so I decided to theme my paintings for the week.
Ever since I painted the circusy girl that is now in my blog banner and avatar, I have wanted to do something else circusy, so I ran with it and now there are 6 circusy/carnival themed ladies ;o)

All these ladies are now available in my etsy shop.

This harlequin girl is my favourite of the week, I love everything about this one :o)

Fragile Heart: SOLD THANK YOU!!

I decided to paint a tattooed lady but I wanted her to have a more 'modern' look about her if that makes any sense?

Decorated Beauty: SOLD THANK YOU!!

This juggling lady was a lot of fun to paint, she is really cheeky looking :o)

Remember to play:

This showgirl lady took ages to paint, so many layers and changes of body shapes etc but I love the finished piece, she is another one on the super expensive cradled wood panel, such a joy to paint on though :o)

The show must go on: SOLD THANK YOU!!

A fun little lion tamer girly on an aceo card, I think I had a 'Lion king' song stuck in my head when I was painting this one ;o)

Pride: SOLD THANK YOU!!

Last but not least is my Clown girl, As a young child (and into adulthood) I had a huge fear of clowns, (brought on by my parents taking me to a clown convention with thousands of them there, scared the crap out of me for a long long time)
I managed to stop my fears by doing research on clowns and how they live their lives, why they do what they do etc, it made me feel differently towards them, I still don't love them but i'm not scared anymore :o)

Childhood Memories : SOLD THANK YOU!!

Thank you for coming, the show is over for this week folks ;o)
See you again soon

Pale and interesting

Pale and interesting is how I have always described myself and these girlies are no different ;o)

I know in last week's update many of you mentioned how much you loved the colours in the paintings I did, but they just didn't feel like 'me', so this week I decided to step back a minute and have a really good think about the kind of things and colours that I truly love, I looked back at my past work to see which were my personal favourites and tried to figure out why those were so good (in my opinion)
I have come up with a heap of ideas and fabulous colour palettes that I truly love, these this week are the tip of that iceburg ;o)

I do hope you like this weeks work, I love them all :o)

I decided to go for a really 'raw' looking face on this lady, she has tons of layering in that face of hers and I loved every minute of painting her, she was a true joy to paint :o)

Be your own kind of beautiful:

This girly is a lot more fun and I always wanted hair that pale pink, I only ever managed a bright fushia pink on my own hair :o)

Dreams can come true: SOLD THANK YOU!!

This girl is a true 'one off' painting on a cradled wood panel, those wood panels cost a fortune to buy but are such good quality and a dream to paint on.

Titania: SOLD THANK YOU!!

This painting was painted in more dramatic colours and I love the finished look of this, I see a lot more dark red in my future paintings :o)

Luella: SOLD THANK YOU!!

How quirky is this girl? she is fabulous and I love her hair :o)

Beauty in the blink of an eye: SOLD THANK YOU!!

Last but not least is this wintery girl with leaves stamped through her hair, I like to call her....

Shiver: SOLD THANK YOU!!

So there you have this week's girlies all available to buy now in my etsy shop :o)

Happy Weekend
