Mixing it up a little

Over the past few days I have been trying out some new styles of girlies, these 2 are very different to each other but I love them both the same, it's funny how many different styles of art that I like painting from raw/outsider and abstract stuff to full illustrative and portraits, I don't think I could ever settle in one style, the only thing I know is that I truly love painting girlies, I never get bored of painting girls faces.

Just sit

So whats Micki been up to? well as the weather here is hot hot hot all I can do at the moment is just sit (and maybe sketch a little too)

My daughter had a tummy bug last week so not much of anything has been done over the later part of last week.

I have got lots of ideas brewing though (as per usual) it will be fun to see if they go anywhere ;o)

I've been wanting to do some different skintones for a while now and finally got round to starting practicing on some yesterday, I am also enjoying painting some 'older girl' styles at the moment too.

So what am I offering in the giveaway you ask?

I thought this through a lot and honestly couldn't make my mind up, so I decided to offer 3 prizes for 3 seperate winners.

Dream Weaver

I don't know about you guys but I have some extremely vivid dreams at night time and bizarrely after painting this lady yesterday my dreams were all horrible bad and nasty ones, hmm, not sure why?

Anyways tomorrow is one year since I opened my Etsy shop so I think I will be having a giveaway, check tomorrow's post to see how generous a mood I am in ;o)

Inner voices

Call it a muse, god, intuition, whatever....We all have it, an inner voice or voice's in my case, do you listen to yours?

I have so many voices pulling in many directions, it's hard to choose which to follow. (yes I do realize that makes me sound insane lol ;o)

Life seems to be whizzing past at a super fast rate at the moment, we have 5 weeks left of the school term until our summer holidays start and my calendar is chock full of appointments for all of those 5 weeks already, the hubbys birthday is coming up and fathers day all on the same weekend, then it's school trips, sports days, visits from my brother, wedding anniversary and also somewhere in amongst it all is my one year etsy shop anniversary too, where did all that time go?

Well for now I am fitting in some painting time as and when I can, I have lots of plans but whether anything will come of them who knows? ;o)

I Gave You Wings:

She was thoroughly tired out

A lovely day painting has been had today but like the painting says I am 'thoroughly tired out' now.

This one is too big for the scanner (it's 10x10 inches) so the piccie is a little darker than I would like it to be, there are lots of layers to this painting too, I hope you like her :o)

I've been a tad slack with my blogging skills lately, the first 2 of these have been on etsy for a day or 2 already and the last one was put on today.

Shadow

Hello again, I know some of you have been waiting to see more piccies of my now 15 week old puppy 'Shadow' but this has proven harder than you can imagine.

You see Shadow does not sit still for a second, the only chance I get to take a piccie of him is when he is asleep like this:

Or when he's waiting to be fed, like this:

So the other day I asked him if he'd like a piccie taken with his mummy (that being me) and said that I would take a piccie of the 2 of us together, this is what happened.......

First I said " Shadow shall we have our piccie taken together in the bathroom" (the light is best in there you see), Shadow said "er no"

So then I said "would you like to go into the art room and have it taken then?"

To which he replied "er no"

Then I said "maybe if we pull silly faces together back in the bathroom how would you like that?"

To which he said "ok cool"

Then Shadow decided he would have his piccie taken after all but he would quite like a drink first, so I said "oh ok then" paused piccie taking for a moment, let him have his drinkies then picked him up and tried again.

Yeah this is as good as it gets...A doggy with a wet beard and a tired looking mummy ;o)

Hello, I hope you are all having a lovely weekend?

I am just popping in to let you all know about a new shop section I have made in my etsy shop called 'FREE STUFF'

There are some special listings in this section that will cost you only $0.20, even the shipping is free.

I will be listing a few items in this section randomly during each month, but I won't be announcing when they are listed, so first come first served, you'll have to keep an eye out regularly if you want one of them ;)

Why am I doing this?

Well I like to give as well as receive, some people call it 'Pay it Forward' or 'PIF' for short, but I just like to call it 'FREE STUFF' ;o)

All I ask is that you give these piece's of art a good home or give it to someone who will :)

I seem to be a 3 in 1 addict

Hmm I sure do seem to post 3 paintings at a time lately, they seem to stack up quickly around here.

First up is a little 5x7 inch canvas board of a sweet girly called: Emmaline

 Second up is another 'Nature inspired' painting on 5x7 inch canvas board called: Free Spirit

 And third and final (for today anyway) is a 14x10 inch painting on canvas board called: What makes a house a home

I hope you like them, I had a lot of fun making them especially the large painting.
