Another 3 in 1

Yesterday was a dull and dreary day here in my part of the world so I wasn't able to take any photos, so today you get 3 in 1 go :)

First up is a little girly holding an egg she's called: Responsibilities, anyone who has taken care of another person or animal knows what this one is about.

 The Second painting is called: Reflection and is another of my 'nature inspired' paintings

 And the third is called: Stop the world I want to get off, and is basically how I feel at the end of a day.... lol, and if you're wondering why she's got an eyepatch, well thats because my eye was really sore when I was painting her due to lack of sleep then too much time on the computer so I just felt like painting on a pretty eyepatch for her ;o)

Thank you and a new shop section

Thank you to everyone who has left supportive comments and emailed me about my 'new' art I appreciate every single comment from you guys.

My new style of art is now available in my Etsy shop in a new section of it's own called 'Nature Inspired Art' from now on my blog and my Etsy shop will be a mix of my whimsical girlies and my nature inspired art too :)

Oh dear

Blimey has it really been a whole week since I last posted? time sure does fly quickly around here lately.

I can assure you I have not been slacking off though, I have finished a custom order and started on my new line of earthy paintings that I seem to have failed to tell you all about.....oops!!

I have for a long time now been searching for another form of art to make along side of my girlies, something that was more intuitive, less planned and not like someone elses work......nothing too difficult then eh?

So I started writing lists of things that please me (no not rude things) art wise - textures, moods, colours etc, and in life too - trees, the sea, animals etc, my list ended up huge lol, but I was able to grasp a common theme amongst everthing which then enabled me to start painting things that actually mean something to me.

So anyway cutting out any further waffle from me, these are a few of the paintings that have been flowing out of my head, heart and hand over the past few weeks, I do hope you like them, they are not currently in my etsy shop but watch this space as they will be soon :)

And for those of you that are totally not into this kind of art, that is fine too and more girlies will be heading this way soon I promise ;o)

Well I had this girly drawn up on a random scrap of paper after watching the season finale of 'Vampire Diaries' I have a huge crush on Damon Salvatore and his wonderfully lickable eyebrows ;o) it got me thinking about all those funny young(and some not so young) girls that hang around waiting for their celeb of choice to turn up, with their home made banners and huge big grins, just waiting for a glimse of the 'crush guy'.

So come on Ladies tell Aunty Micki who your 'Crush Guy' is at the moment!!! :)

Feeling moody

Yesterday was a really dark and gloomy day and I was feeling rather moody which I shall blame on my ladies monthlies ;o)

Well anyway this is what I painted, she's a style of girly that I used to paint ages ago and for some reason made a reappearance on my canvas board, I thought I had moved away from this type of girly but obviously not, she decided to revisit, i'm not sure I like her, maybe i'm still being moody? who knows? I do love the background and all the textures, but I just feel this type of girly is not me? if that makes any sense? i'm clearly waffling on today so I shall just say that she is available now in my etsy shop.

3 in 1

Oh yes I am indeedy trying to get back to my pre-puppy prolific ways and I have painted not 1, not 2, but 3 paintings since I last posted :)

Don't worry my little puppy is not being neglected but he is sleeping a lot more in the day now that he is having his daily walkies, which he loves I might add.

He gets rather a lot of fuss and attention when we are out on walkies and it takes us double the length of time it should do with all the people who have to stop and fuss him... lol, he's quite the spoilt boy :)

Here is the little painting I was working on yesterday, as you can see it is not my usual type of art work but it is something I had a lot of fun with.

This painting was created after reading Sarah Ahearn's latest book 'Painted pages' she has some fab ideas especially one about 2 minute prompts, but I won't go in to detail, you'll have to buy her book to find out more ;o)

This painting has just been put in my Etsy shop it is called: The long and short of it.

Finally finished

Well I finally finished the bigger painting that I started over a week ago, at first I thought she needed something on the right hand side in the blank space but then I decided I liked her as she was.....so here she is ;o)

She is on a 30x30cm (roughly12x12 inches) flat canvasboard and she won't fit on my scanner so I had to take lots of photos up close for Etsy instead.

I am in the middle of painting a little painting at the moment, just waiting for layers to dry, so i'll be sure to pop back tomorrow and post that one too :)

Well after all blogger's issues today I have finally got on to make my post, I am also hoping the last post I made will return too as it has currently disappeared, silly blogger ;o)

Anyway here is a little mermaid girly, sitting at the bottom of the ocean (if mermaids do sit, who knows?) I do hope you like her.

Something different

My plan this week was to paint lots of aceo's but after finding out I had run out of aceo cards then my suppliers having none in stock I had to search around my art room for something else small to paint on.

I had been saving these little gift tags and birch plywood bits for later in the year, I was going to make Christmas ornaments out of them but why wait till Christmas? so I painted a few up in the spare moments between children, puppy and other general life stuff :)

They each have a handcrafted (not by me but some other talented artisan) borosilicate glass bead on them from my huge bead stash I have left from my jewellery making days.

The bead is probably worth more then the art, so if anyone wanted to purchase it for the bead alone and bin the art then I wouldn't blame them ;o) lol

They are available now in my etsy shop.

Hello again, well with limited time I have only managed to do one little painting since the weekend, not quite up to my usual prolific standards eh? lol ;o)

She's holding a pretty little butterfly bouquet and she decided her name was Juliet :)

Shadow (the new puppy in case you didn't know) is doing great, he's stopped plant eating now thanks to some nasty tasting spray and a water pistol (thanks for that tip Michele) he goes to the vets for his second injection tomorrow, then it's 10 days wait before he can go for walkies.

He's got himself in to a nice little routine of being fussed every morning at my daughters school, with me carrying him to see everyone lol, he's well loved this little doggy!!

Yay a painting day

I had the day to myself to get some painting done yesterday, the hubby took the kids and dogs over to his parents so I had some peace and quiet and it was lovely :)
