Today is a good day

I had this little lady painted up for a couple of days but couldn't think of a title for her, which is unusual for me, so I left her on my table and waited until something came to me, well this morning after getting together with some friends, I sat down to watch the Royal wedding on tv with my daughter and hearing her oohing and aahing over everything, the name just came to me.

Today is a good day.

I hope that wherever you are and whatever you are doing, that today is a good day for you too.

My favourite day is sundae

Well it's all been a bit mad around here for the past couple of weeks, Shadow is settling nicely and has made himself right at home, he has had his first set of injections, been wormed and microchipped and has handled it all really well, but he has made himself poorly eating dandelions, he has been sick all night so he is on water and plain rice today poor boy. I think i'm going to have to watch him like a hawk each time he goes in the garden.

I did manage over the course of 3 days to get this little painting done and have just listed her in my etsy shop :)

I will be trying to get some more paintings done over the next few weeks but it won't be anywhere near the amount I usually do though....I think things will be on 'go slow' for a while.

Plant eater

Hello, i'm just popping in to see if any of you can offer me any advise on stopping my new puppy from eating my garden plants?

None of the previous 17 dogs I have owned have ever been interested in eating anything outdoors, but Shadow seems to just want to eat everything he shouldn't in the garden, as I know lots of plants are harmful/poisonous to dogs I am quite concerned.

Any advice is welcome :)

As far as everything else in Shadow's world, he is doing great, he can sit on command, fetch a toy (and bring it back) he is sleeping through the night and giving a little whine when he wants to go toilet, so all is good except for the one thing that isn't lol ;o)

First hair cut, what a cutie!!

Shadow is settling in nicely, he's got more and more energy with each day he's here and he is so willing to please, he's a joy to train :o)

He was not sure at first about the hair trimmers, but after a good sniff and lick, he let me get on with it and is now looking like a proper cutie schnauzer now.

Meet Shadow

This adorable little furbaby is called 'Shadow' we had already picked a name out before going to chose a pup and it couldn't be more accurate for him, he follows me and everyone else in the house everywhere and truly is our little shadow.

He is NOT good at night time though bless him and howled the place down most of the night, he needed the loo every 2 hours and today I am SHATTERED lol.... but we love him anyways ;o)

The weather here is fab at the moment and he has been loving playing in the sun all day, he loves to chase ball and then sleep resting on anyone who is around, he'll curl up next to your foot if you are standing or crawl onto your lap if you are sitting, he is quite possibly the most loving doggy I have ever met and I have been the proud owner of 17 different doggies so far :)

He is going to be having his first shave over the next day or 2 so he'll look a little more like a schnauzer very soon (more piccies will follow i'm sure)

Life in Micki World

Life in Micki world is going to be a bit different over the next few weeks, you may even see a few tumbleweeds floating past as I ignore my arting in favour of playing with my new furbaby. We decided to get our puppy at easter instead of summer and I will be taking a few weeks off from work so I can spend time with the kids (as it is their easter holidays) and the new puppy, getting to know each other and enjoying lots of cuddles :o)

One of these cuties in the piccy below will have his permanent home with us as from Saturday, it's a very exciting time in our house right now as we prepare for his arrival.

I will of course upload some piccies of the new furbaby when he has settled, I won't totally neglect my blog but don't expect to see any art anytime soon ;o)

My Etsy shop will stay open though and any orders will be completed within the usual time, so don't worry if you've had an eye on something but not purchased yet.

Apple

I'm all done with the strawberries now and i've moved on to apples, well for this one anyway ;o)

I'm having a bit of a thing for patterns lately, I do think they make the girls dresses look so cute with a fun pattern.

This little lady was painted on to a 5x7 inch canvas board with no texture!!! shock horror!!!

I had no boards left that were prepped with any kind of texture's so I just got on and painted to a straight canvasboard, which is something I haven't done in ages.

I think she's rather cute even if i do say so myself, I think i'd miss all the texture though if I painted like this all the time.

What do you guys prefer? textured or not?

I've had a song stuck in my head all week from my daughters strawberry shortcake video and it's driving me insane....insane I tell you, no matter how many other songs I hear, that is the one that is with me in my head 24/7!!

Anyway that has nothing at all to with my latest painting, other than the fact it's to do with spring, i'm just letting you all know how crazy I am at the moment lol ;o)

This little fairy girly is spreading the joy of flowers across the world, the fields that I walk across in the mornings are springing up with new, pretty flowers everyday, it is so nice down there at the moment and I can't help but be inspired by all the prettyness around me.

Slacker

Yes indeedy, I Micki Wilde am a slacker, or at least I was last week anyway.

I had no energy last week and hit a wall with my art, I didn't want to do anything at all, but the rest did me good, I had a heap of thinking time and then made this little lady (well not really little she's on a 12x10 inch canvasboard) on Saturday.

Yesterday was Mothers day here in the UK and I got some lovely pressies from the hubby and kids, and we went out in the morning and picked some new plants for the garden, and the sun was shining too, thats enough to lift anyones spirits I think :)

Today I will be prepping some boards then hopefully getting on with some paintings for the rest of the week. (as long as I don't catch the nasty sickness bug that's going around)
