Another journal.....finally!!

Well I finally got another journal done today, i've been dragging my heels a little for some reason, but I got off my butt (or sat down on my butt I should say) and painted one up today, I also got a ton of sketches done and a painting on canvas board too, so all in all not a bad days work I think ;)

Phew it's hot!!!

Phew it's been another hot one again here in the UK, i'm so not a lover of the heat, I love spring and autumn and don't cope well with summer and winter it is just sucking me of all my energy and my mind can't focus on painting at the mo, i'm sure i will be back to normal soon though!! ;)

I did manage to do this little 5x7 inch canvas board painting today though, hope you like it :)

WHY:

We have a winner or 3?!! 2 extra runner up prizes :)

Well a huge thank you to everyone that entered my bumper giveaway and for all the new followers on my blog and on Etsy :)

I was feeling kind of generous this morning and seeing as so many of you entered I decided to give 2 runner up prizes as well, both those runner up's will recieve a pack of 5 postcards of their choice from my Etsy shop.

First of all I entered the numbers into the random generator to get the winner of the first prize, the big bumper giveaway prize :)

The number that was chosen is number 18 which is the wonderful Katherine Quinn of "Sleep and her sisters"

After I did that, I asked my daughter to look at all the names of the people who entered and pick out 2 that she wanted to win the postcard sets.

She picked number 5 Chrissy

and number 32 Katy

She said she picked them because they had pretty names and they deserved to win, typical 6 year old girl logic ...lol ;)

still a little scanner shy

Well this poor little guy is still a little scanner shy, he really doesn't want his piccie taken, for instance the white area on his forehead is actually pale blue, but no matter how much I mess about with the settings on the scanner and in photoshop it just won't show up? It is not a neon colour either because I know they don't show up, it was just an ordinary pale blue?!!

Ah well i'm showing him off anyway, soon to be made into an atc ;)

I was in a silly mood on Friday afternoon and this little guy popped out, he was a sketch on paper which I cut out, glued to an atc size piece of chipboard/thick cardboard and coloured in with more pencil crayon (no paint involved) there is also another little guy too but he's being a bit scanner shy and keeps going blurry, i'll see if I can coax him round again tommorow ;)

I've also been working on some more journals to go into my etsy shop, they are not quite finished yet but I have a Crocodile, Beaver and Lion all drawn up and ready to paint, hopefully tomorrow or Monday.

The journals have done well so far in my Etsy shop and i'm really pleased, 3 have sold already and there are currently 5 in the shop left, I really enjoy making them so I hope they continue to sell well :)

Right i'm off for a well deserved sit down now,

Loving my etsy experience so far

I'm just popping in to show you my latest painting, I put it on Etsy last night it has already sold *yay*

I am loving my Etsy experience so far, I have sold 7 items, am in 7 treasury easts and I even got on the Etsy front page yesterday, how awesome is that?!!

Well ok thats enough bragging for now, or my head will swell so much i'll never get out of my art room ;)

This painting is of 2 little sisters, these silly sisters forgot which one was supposed to bring the cake to the party, ah well at least there is plenty for everyone :)

Phew What a day!!

Well today was the official opening of my new etsy shop I had a tonne of good luck wishes, loads of new followers (people adding me as a favourite) and even better 2 sales and guess what?.... I've even been added into a treasury here how awesome is that for a first day?

Thank you to everyone who supported me today, I am truly grateful.

Phew first day of listing done

Well it's been a crazy day of listing goodies in my etsy shop today

I got 58 items in there today and another 50 something to be listed tomorrow too, it's no wonder i'm running out of space in my art room ;)

If you haven't added me to your favourite shops yet on etsy I would be most appreciative if you could do, I have added lots of you to my favourites already :)

(I just realised that sounded a bit desperate, You really don't 'HAVE' to add me as a favourite... lol... only if you had before I meant!!! oops)

ETSY SHOP UPDATE

I will be listing items in my Etsy shop starting Sunday 20th June and will be finishing off listing on Monday 21st June, they will be available to buy as soon as they are listed but if you want to wait until the shop is fully stocked before choosing, then i'd wait until Monday ;)

Some of the items have already been reserved so will not be available for purchase (except for the person who reserved them) If you have seen a painting (or any of my other items) on my Flickr or Blog and would like to reserve it please let me know asap and I will gladly do that for you :)

Hi guys, sorry it's been a while, lots going on here, getting ready to open my Etsy shop on 21st June, after all the hassles with the bank and then paypal, I had even more problems with getting my work professionally printed too, I am not even going to go into how inadequate this company were and how disappointed I was at what I received in the post *sigh*but I am now back on track and I will be opening up my Etsy shop on June 21st oh yes indeedy I will ;)

So anyway I've only had time for one painting this week another little house, I seem to be doing paintings in sets of three at the moment and I have no idea why? lol :)

This old house

This house painting is a bit more personal than the first house I did, this one is done from memory of a house I lived in when I was little, it was a massive old house called "Pear Tree Cottage" my mum and dad bought it in a run down awful state with the intention of doing it up and making it into a beautiful family home, unfortunatly my dad's business partner walked out with all the money and left us with nothing and we had to sell the house and move elsewhere!

We spent about a year or 2 in "Pear Tree Cottage" and I remember it being fascinating, it had creeping ivy ALL over one side of the house, full of snails too. We had 2 rooms in the house that we couldn't use because a tree was growing up through them and the garden was so overgrown we had to get a goat to come and tidy up the grass for us, his name was "Rusty" lol

it was brilliant being a kid in that house!!

The house wasn't pink and it didn't have red window ledges, but I like to think of it in that way ;)

This Old House:

A lovely day

Yesterday was a lovely day, just hanging out in the garden with the kids, the weather here in the UK has been wonderful the past few days.

I got a new supply of paints through yesterday and I was itching to use them all day but I held off until the kids were in bed as I had promised them a full day of mum's attention ;-)

Well I wasn't disappointed with the paints thats for sure they are a lovely creamy consistency and blend wonderfully....for those that are interested they are royal and langnickel paints.

The only thing that is bad about them is their limited colour range, but i'm hoping they will get more colours in the future!!

Anyway here is last nights painting all done with my new paints :)
