Hi guys I hope you are all well?
We've had some big up's and down's with our house renovations and all is still a mess but I did manage to get into my art room for 1 day this week and painted these 2 ladies.
I hope you like them :o)
These 2 are now available in my etsy shop for purchase:
In this first one I've used the same subtle shades that I am using to decorate my art room, it felt good to paint something other than walls and furniture though ;o)
I can be all I want to be:
This girl started out by me thinking about how much I was missing painting but ended up with more of a sad feel to her than I originally intended, I think it is one of those paintings that you can read your own story into and is left open to interpretation, sometimes paintings are better that way :o)
I'm missing you:
I am hoping for a return to painting again within the next week or 2, there is still a lot of work to be done in my art room but it is mainly away from my painting area now *sigh*
After this weekend and once I am done with cleaning the whole room (again) I should be able to get on with some much craved for girly painting ;o)
I will update here as soon as I have something new to show you.
Happy 'Love day' to all my friends and followers

ReplyDeletewishing you grace as you do the things you are up to.
Thanks Tammie x
DeleteFor some reason, the first one really reminds me of MAx, from where the wild things are, in his outfit. :)
ReplyDeleteAww that's cute!!
DeleteHappy Valentine's Day Micki ;o) I am sorry about the renovations going all crazy on you! Just remember to breathe and it will all work out ;o) Your two new paintings are very special! A lot of meaning! Big Hugs ;o)
ReplyDeleteThanks Stacy, We are taking the renovations one small bit at a time, it is far to much to do all at once, time and money as always ;o)
DeleteGorgeous work Micki! They have a gentleness to them even though your house might still be a little chaotic with the decorating. I'm in the midst of decorating too, it seems never ending!xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Jess, It's so much hard work being a grown up and doing house stuff eh?
DeleteBeautiful paintings, Micki. I love the calming colours - gorgeous. I hope you are getting the decorating chaos sorted!! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks hun, this chaos will be around for some time yet, it's very slow going I'm afraid!!
DeleteOh no! That's no good! Just think about how wonderful it is going to look when you have finished! xx
DeleteI'm glad you were able to squeeze some pleasure painting into your renovations!
ReplyDeleteWe've definately been missing you around here....but I bet your house and studio are going to be worth the time away!
Might you share pics when it's all done? :)
Hope your day was filled with love, too,
Cam
My art room isn't having anything that will make it aesthetically better, it's just in need of some damp proofing which means ripping it back to the bare bones, which is both time consuming and very messy!!
DeleteI know it will benefit us in the long run though but it's a pain as my art room is the centre of the house, the room everyone has to walk through to get to other rooms!!!
I miss all my bloggy friends and I miss painting so very much, I can't wait to get back into it again.
Here's hoping you can get back to more of your wonderful paintings soon. I understand that need to create feeling, and it is so awful when for a variety of reasons you can't get there. The two paintings you shared are wonderful! Here's hoping you can settle into more very soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks heaps Kim, I can't wait to be back with paint on my fingers ;o)
