Cake Takers

Anyone that has been following my blog for a while knows that I never usually use my blog for ranting but something has been ‘more than bugging me’ lately and I just need to vent this one out.

I love blogland the people are kind and generous of spirit and I am sickened to see some people using their blogs (and I’m sure facebook, twitter and anywhere else too) as a way to get people to give them money for no decent reason other than their own greed.
Over the past week I have come across 3 bloggers doing this and I was horrified, needless to say I will not be visiting those blogs again.

There are many things I wish to do in my life, some I will achieve and some I won’t but there is one thing I will never NEVER do and that is blatantly ask for money from my blog followers to help me achieve them.
My household is on a very low income and if I want to do something I have to SAVE FOR IT and sometimes even if I do SAVE FOR IT something else happens and the money might have to go towards that instead but you know what?
I am proud of the fact that I work my ass off for every penny I earn.
I paint and paint until my brain and body aches and if people buy my art then that is fabulous and if they don’t then I have to budget accordingly.

We live in a terrible time of people wanting things NOW and not willing to wait for a while and all this asking for money from strangers is just awful.

There are always exceptions to the rule, people asking for you to donate money to help them with funds for a sick child, loved one, animal etc and I am happy in these circumstances to give what little I can, but when for example someone says “ OMG it’s my lifelong wish to: swim with dolphins/go to Disneyland/travel overseas (insert other silly whim here)” then HELL NO……..get off your lazy ass and earn the goddamn money yourself or get a loan if you really have to but don’t ask for assistance from the generosity of your blog followers and the like it is just plain rude, have some respect for yourself and other people!!!

I am not posting this to start a debate there are people who will agree and people who won’t its fine either way I am merely using my blog to put across my opinion on this matter.

Feel free to leave your opinion but I won’t be responding to comments on this one :o)

Rant over…..nuff said!!!

My Latest artiness will follow tomorrow x

Feeling Hot!!

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOT right now!!!!!!!!
The weather is crazy hot here in the UK and it's making my pale and pasty skin itch lol ;o)

I wish I was on a beach somewhere but alas, I am not!!

Anyway's on with the artiness:

This lady is painted on a 12x10 inch flat canvas board and I love her.......I really, really do ;o)

Silent Protector:

All this hot weather has been making me thirsty but it's too hot for my usual coffee so I'm drinking a ton of water, I miss the coffee but I think my skin will love me for it though ;o)
5x7 inches on flat canvas board.

Refresh your Soul:

I love the 'rawness' on this girlie's face, she makes me smile :o)
5x7 inches on flat canvas board.

Her Heart Was Pure:

Adding a bit of humour to my week, this quirky girl on 12x10 inch flat canvas board got lost and is now......

A Long Way From Home:

If you are interested in purchasing any of these paintings, they are now available for sale in my etsy shop.

So that's me done for this week,

Keep cool and drink some water ;o)

Floral fantasy

As you can see I am still loving the flowers ;o)

In real life I can't have flowers in the house and suffer with terrible pollen allergies but it still doesn't stop me loving flowers and when painted up like this they are a lot safer for me to enjoy :o)

This one is my favourite of the week, she took flippin ages to paint but I enjoyed the process though :o)

The Garden Of Dreams:

This one was inspired by my bathroom wall lol, we have some rendering that is peeling away on an outside wall and when you look closely you can see some moss and little flowers have started to grow there, it made me think about all the secret little places that flowers grow in urban areas.

Secret Places:

This girl was painted after a walk with the dogs, on the walk my eyes were tearing up, nose itchy and head was thumping, all from the smell of a sea of flowers in the fields. Although I was suffering, the views were still stunning and worthy of the discomfort :o)

Bloom:

As always these girls are available now in my etsy shop :o)

I hope wherever you are, you are enjoying the seasonal flowers and not suffering with allergies.

Until next week,

Micki x

Fun with hobbies

I can't remember why but myself and my daughter ended up on the internet the other day looking at various different hobbies and what their 'official' hobby name was, it proved to be quite amusing.
2 of my 3 paintings this week are named after the hobbies they do (in their crazy whimsy world's)

1st up is.......The Lepidopterist's Dream:
For those of you that don't know or don't want to look it up, a Lepidopterist is a butterfly and moth collector :o)

2nd of my hobby girl's is...... The Curious Entomologist:
This girl's favourite pastime is collecting bugs (my daughter re-named her 'the creepy bug lady')

And my 3rd painting this week has nothing to do with the hobby girl's as she was painted before that little internet expedition and is simply called:

From small beginnings (come great things)

I had lots of fun looking up random hobbies and have another 2 or 3 ideas for paintings from them.

So tell me, do any of my blog followers have any fun hobbies with crazy long names?
I would love to know :o)

babushka's and bedroom's

It's been busy busy here again, not only have I got 4 paintings for my etsy shop but I also finished off the large painting that I mentioned last week and it is now hanging on my bedroom wall.
I'm not normally one to show off piccies of my house, mainly because it's always messy, what with 2 kids, 2 dogs, a hubby and a very messy artist living here it soon gets in a non photo-able state, but as we had just cleaned up the bedroom and a new duvet cover on the bed I thought I'd take a piccie or 2 of the new art in situ....enjoy ;o)

First things first.......the girl's:

The Babushka's Garden:

Once Upon A Time:

Courageous And Free:

The Art Of Patience:

My 36 inch x 24 inch abstract ( I am so not good at photographing large paintings it came out rather blurry):

A close up of the top left corner and part of a poem by E.E.Cummings:

My bed ;o)

Happy weekend x
