Only 2

Well it's been a week filled with minor irritations and crappy weather for me this week, so only 2 paintings have been finished and put in my etsy shop today, I have 2 more started and on my painting table but they won't get done until next week now as I have a rather large (36 inches x 24 inches) painting waiting to be done for my bedroom that I want to try and tackle this weekend.

I needed some bright and pretty colours to cheer me up with the awful dreary grey and wet weather we are having here at the moment, I hope she brings some sunshine to your day too ;o)

A Love Of Nature:

This lady looks calm and peaceful, I wish my week had been like that!!

A random poem

Sometimes......

Sometimes I want to make art that's pleasing to the eye

Sometimes I want to make art that makes you cry

Sometimes I want to make art that's fun and bright

Sometimes I want to make art that's dark as the night

Sometimes I want to make art that's pretty and nice

Sometimes I want to make art that's as ugly as mouldy old rice

I don't know what art I want to make today but I know I'll make something in my own special way ;o)

fun with flowers

Hello, has it been a week already since I was last here?
Time sure is flying by.

It's been yucky horrid rainy and cold weather for the past week or 2 here in my part of the UK so I decided to paint some pretty flowers to remind me of the beauty that will arrive when the rain has passed and the sun rears it's head again.
There are only 3 paintings in my etsy shop this week as each one of these was quite labour intensive.
These 3 ladies are all painted on cradled wood panels, my favourite thing to paint on and 2 of them have pretty decorated sides too.

I hope you like them :o)

This one is my favourite of the week (but shush don't tell the others ;o)
I love pretty wildflowers, growing wherever they please, they always seem more cheerful than carefully planted flowers.

The Botanist's Daughter:

Ok so this one is not a flowery garden but the sea floor is as much a garden as any grassy/earthy type ;o)

Gifts from the sea:

I love poppies and the fields where I walk my doggies will be full of them soon, I can't wait :o)

The poppy garden:

Here's hoping the weather is nicer soon, especially as my lovely blog friend Jenny is visiting the UK and we wouldn't want rubbish weather for her coming over, my fingers are crossed Jenny, I hope you have a wonderful time in Yorkshire x

Every little girl deserves to be a princess

Along with my paintings for the shop this week I also made 2 paintings for my home.
In fact I made 1 painting (with my daughters photo on) for my art room and then my daughter begged me to make one for her bedroom too so that meant I had less time for my shop but hey ho life of an artist/mother eh? lol

This is the first painting I did with my daughters photo on a 12x12 flat canvas board and is now living very happily in my art room.

The best girly I ever made:

The second painting I did with my daughters photo is on a 14 x10 inch canvas and in my daughters favourite (at the moment) bright colours to go nicely in her bedroom.

Every little girl deserves to be a princess:

Inspired to paint slightly bigger than normal for my shop I painted this girly to a 10x10 inch canvas, I really enjoy working in bigger sizes, I just wish more people would buy my bigger paintings, but my smaller ones have always been more popular.

Tread Softly:

This girly is called Gem, she reminded me and my hubby of someone we knew from a long time ago with that name so here she is.
Gem is painted on a 6x6 inch flat canvas board.

Gem:

I love the colours in this painting but for some reason am not loving the overall look.....can't love them all I guess, although I hope someone else will :o)
She is painted on a 6x6 inch flat canvas board.

Morning Light:

This one turned out a lot different to how I first thought she'd look but I think she's pretty sweet now she's done.
She is painted on an A5 flat canvas board.

Wonder:

See you next week x

Free bees and hail stones

It was a funny old day yesterday, we had glorious sun in the morning and heavy hailstones in the afternoon.
I also had a random opportunity to take some interesting photos of........a bumble bee..... I know totally off my usual topic but here you go anyway ;o)

This little guy who the kids named fuzzy lumpkin?!!! was found on my top lawn in the morning.
Now I am usually the run and hide from bee's type as I am allergic to them, so when I first saw it my instinct was to leave it the hell alone but something made me want to check it and see if it was dead or just chilling out on the lawn having fun in the sun........unfortunately for the bee it was the former.

I was at a loss as what to do with it as I didn't want my silly doggy to find it and munch on it, I decided to pick it up (with a wad of tissue so I didn't get stung) and then my daughter asked if we could take it in the house and look at it......well after a couple of 'omg it's a bee, what if it moves and comes back to life? silly moments' we eventually stopped freaking out and properly looked at it.......you know what?.....bee's are actually really cool and I never noticed before just how fuzzy and cute they really are.

Anyway I took a heap of bee photos and thought I'd offer them up on my blog royalty free to do with them as you please, some photos are better than others....I am not that great with a camera but if you want to use them for arty purposes or anything else feel free!!!

FREE BEE'S

Oh and here are some of those funny old hailstones I was talking about too:

New arty photos will be posted tomorrow I promise ;o)

Latest paintings and........gushing mother alert!!!

Before I start to show you my paintings this week I just wanted to take a bit of time and gush over my daughters latest creation, she had a school project to paint a hard boiled egg and this is what she came up with:

She is full of ideas like me, so first of all she drew a heap of ideas onto paper then chose the one she liked the best and got started, she drew the face on first then filled it in using acrylic paint (she will be the only kid at school I'm sure that used golden and liquitex paints in their creations lol spoilt girl)

She wanted it to have a nappy so I helped her cut some kitchen towel into a rough nappy shape then she decided to paint some snap fastenings onto the side, she wasn't happy with a plain nappy either she had to have polka dots too ;o)

She made her mum very proud.......I love my daughter's creative mind...... oh and just in case you thought the egg wasn't special enough already......you see the tiny hairline crack over the eye?  well if you heat up the egg with a hairdryer it swells up and water comes out creating a tear out of the eye lol......we couldn't have planned that one if we'd tried I'm sure......of course this also means that the egg will stink like hell fairly soon but hey it's in her teachers workroom now not mine lol ;o)

Ok proud mummy moment over, here are my paintings for the week just listed in my etsy shop:
