Along with my paintings for the shop this week I also made 2 paintings for my home.
In fact I made 1 painting (with my daughters photo on) for my art room and then my daughter begged me to make one for her bedroom too so that meant I had less time for my shop but hey ho life of an artist/mother eh? lol
This is the first painting I did with my daughters photo on a 12x12 flat canvas board and is now living very happily in my art room.
The best girly I ever made:
The second painting I did with my daughters photo is on a 14 x10 inch canvas and in my daughters favourite (at the moment) bright colours to go nicely in her bedroom.
Every little girl deserves to be a princess:
Inspired to paint slightly bigger than normal for my shop I painted this girly to a 10x10 inch canvas, I really enjoy working in bigger sizes, I just wish more people would buy my bigger paintings, but my smaller ones have always been more popular.
Tread Softly:
This girly is called Gem, she reminded me and my hubby of someone we knew from a long time ago with that name so here she is.
Gem is painted on a 6x6 inch flat canvas board.
Gem:
I love the colours in this painting but for some reason am not loving the overall look.....can't love them all I guess, although I hope someone else will :o)
She is painted on a 6x6 inch flat canvas board.
Morning Light:
This one turned out a lot different to how I first thought she'd look but I think she's pretty sweet now she's done.
She is painted on an A5 flat canvas board.
Wonder:
See you next week x

Your daughter must be thrilled with these. Gem and Morning Light are a bit different, the girls have a very different expression from your usual style (as in Wonder). Whats not to like? x

DeleteFantastic Micki...especially the ones of your daughter...and tell her I like her taste in bright happy colors. : )
ReplyDeleteYour paintings have changed so much...you were serious when you said you felt change coming on. The tones are all pastel-y and sping/summerish...and with those pretty and tender colors the faces seem younger but still with your special touch.
People compliment on the art work I have here in my home all the time...you are so gifted.
Thank you x
DeleteShe sure does love those bright colours, she's a neon addict at the moment ;o)
Look out for another change in my work this week too, you know me I never stick with one style lol, so many styles so little time ;o)

DeleteI am a princess.
ReplyDeleteAll girls are.
Even if they live in tiny, old attics; even if they dress in rags; even if they aren't pretty, or smart, or young.
They're still princesses. All of us.
Didn't you father ever tell you that?
Didn't he?
-The Little Princess
I am a princess.....yay!!!!!
DeleteLove the princess art! Your other paintings are wonderful too. I love their expressions--very nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cris x
DeleteI bet that princess looks amazing in her room, too! That pink is super cool....I'm leaning towards the brighter side these days myself :)
ReplyDelete...and your other girls are freakin' fantastic, too!
Thanks Cam x
DeleteThat pink is Americana electric pink and is even brighter in real life too!!
They 're all so precious, Micki. I've never seen a picture of your daughter until now. Is it just me, or am I right to say that some of your painted girls resemble her? :)
ReplyDeleteThank you x
DeleteI think that it's entirely possible that some of my girl's resemble her in some way or another.
I wouldn't dare to actually try and paint a real likeness though, I'd be too scared of messing it up ;o)
