Thank you to all that left such lovely comments for me last week, this week has been much better thankfully ;o)
In between my kids being on half term break and a girly shopping day as celebration for my daughters birthday next week I managed to make a few paintings.
I was fortunate enough to have the kids go to their grandparents for a couple of days during half term break so I worked from morning till night on those days and had time with the kids on the others, it's a fun filled life juggling kids and arting ;o)
These 4 have just been listed in my etsy shop and are now available for purchase ;o)
I also made this painting which is a biggy at 25x12 inches for my kitchen/back porch area in my house she's called : The Journey
After making the big girly I felt the need to make another big skirted girl but this time chose a more neutral colour palette with a splash of colour, I was tempted to keep this one too as I really love her but I can't keep them all so she's in my etsy shop ;o)
Transition:
I have a bit of an obsession with the circus and clowns this girly is a toned down version of my obsession, I have to say that painting a tutu for the first time was an experience, lol, I made a few interesting discoveries along the way of what works and what 'really' doesn't, I am in love with this final version though :o)
Delicate:
So many people I have chatted to lately seem to be going through some kind of change in their lives either physical or mental, this girl was born from those thoughts.
I got out some molding paste for this one as i've not used any for ages and thought it was about time to rekindle that love :o)
Inner Journey:
This one is all about me lol ;o)
I just can't wait for the weather to get better so I can take my doggies field walking again, I love my field trips in spring and summer, but where I walk is too grotty to go in winter.
An Eagerness To Explore:
As the mail art date for posting has passed there will only be a couple left to arrive on my doorstep now, when they have all arrived I will do my huge blogpost to show you all how talented my bloggy friends are, I can't wait :o)
The mail art I gratefully received this week is from:
Thank you so much ladies, your mail art packages will be posted out to you first thing Monday morning :o)

Beautiful - as always! I love the large paintings you created, especially the one you are keeping! And that tutu came out perfectly! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad this past week was much better for you! Hugs, Silke
Inner Journey is my favourite, beautiful face and expression :) The Journey for your back door ~ wow. A lot of people will now be thinking "what can I do with my plain ugly door?" x
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a better week:) You say about Etsy (do you find it a good means for selling your art, just wondered as I have considered it as a possible myself). That said, it is no wonder that your art does well, it is so unique, with a message and beautiful faces.
ReplyDeleteEtsy has been good for me, it takes time to figure it all out but if you stick with it and be consistant it will work just fine :)
DeleteWow! I totally love Inner Journey! I see she has sold already!! That is fabulous for the lucky person who bought her!

ReplyDeleteHi Micki! Sounds like you had a good week! Hope the shopping adventure with your daughter was fun for both of you! I LOVE the paintings, especially the big dress ones... and great that you made a larger one for yourself. I am always chicken to work big, but I am working up the courage to work on a big piece for our home... not quite ready yet. I also proudly wanted to tell you that Briana Tomlin that you recieved a creation from this week is my very talented neice!
ReplyDeleteXOXO Kim
Am loving your new art work Micki, i couldn't pick a favourite. Glad you're feeling better this week, i'm amazed we didn't have any snow here in Montgomery, although it was very cold. Shopping with your daughter is absolutely divine, my Nicci is nineteen now and we love shopping (although sadly it's not as often these days), costs me more though at this age, Ha, enjoy yourselves. Working on a piece of art for myself too, for my bathroom, i have a huge obsession for Viking Boats and anything vikingy (is that a word?) and have a huge canvas, so far i've just managed to just decide the background colour. Have fun xx
