Last few paintings for this year!!!!

Well it's been a lot of fun working on these wood pieces over the last week, I forgot how much I love to work on wood.
The oval plaques are super light weight wood and fabulous to work on, the 2 plaques in the centre are MDF and pretty heavy especially the one with the angel on which is 18mm thick and pretty solid.
They all have d-ring attachments on the back ready for hanging straight away ;o)

This year has gone by super fast and I can't believe these will be the last paintings for my etsy shop until January 2nd!!

I will still be painting over the next few weeks, just not for my etsy shop.
I will post up any new work I make for the mail art swap so you can wonder which one might become your's ;o)

As always these are all available in my etsy shop now (except one because I love her and i'm keeping her all to myself ;o)

There is only one week left now until my etsy shop shuts up for Christmas so if you see something you want, grab it quick or reserve it to pay in the New Year :o)

A pretty angel just in time for Christmas, painted on a chunky mdf plaque.

Watching Over you:

I love this colour scheme, I will definately be using this colour scheme again on another girly.
Painted on an oval wood plaque with moulded edges.

The Muse:

I couldn't resist visiting some of my favourite themes for this last week, a slightly moody looking Alice on an oval wood plaque with moulded edges.

It's just a matter of time:

Another favourite character to revisit over and over again, I seriously never get bored of little red, on an oval wood plaque with moulded edges.

Who's afraid:

Well it was about time I had a painting named after my business, this one sat in my journal for a long time and I thought it was time to re-paint her on an MDF plaque with cut corners and chamfered edges.

The Secret Hermit:

The weather has been horribly dreary here in the UK and this girl is a little reminder to myself that spring will be here again in a few months and life will be green again :o)
on an oval wood plaque with moulded edges.

After the rain:

Another favourite to revisit the harlequin girl, on an oval wood plaque with moulded edges.

Broken dreams:

This one is going to be living on my wall for a while keeping me company whilst I make mail art. When I finished painting her I just felt I couldn't part with her, i'm not sure why, but she's staying with me for a while.....this is all I know ;o)

The Collector of dreams:

Before I go I just want to say thank you for all your support with my work this year, I love blogland and I love you guys!!

X

  1. Collector of Dreams is my favourite. Looking forward to your swap. For a totally untrained novice painter this will be a challenge for me, and to get a chance to own a little piece of your wonderful work will no doubt inspire me! x

  2. They are all fabulous Micki! I can see why The Collector of Dreams is staying home with you for a while. After the Rain speaks to the nature lover in me. I hope you sell every single one because they deserve a home for sure. (You know I would buy them all if I could : )

  8. OMG.
    Beautiful.
Collector of Dreams is my absolute favourite favourite.

Oh and btw... I was wearing my Micki necklace the other day and got so many compliments... normally it slips under my collar and is not so visible but with it being warmer and all and wearing summer tops, everybody is noticing it. ☺

  10. Hi lovely Micki,
Another batch of beautiful paintings I see. My fav this week is definitely 'Collector of Dreams'. I understand completely why you would keep this one. For me the biggest connections are made in relation to the eyes. I felt a connection with her eyes straight away and therefore am drawn to it. That is why the majority of my work, both portraits and whimsical have the eyes looking directly out at me. I like to feel a connection while I'm working, as well as when I look at the finished piece. This is also why I usually start by drawing the eyes.
Just realized I've started to write a novel here....whoops.
