Well this week has been one long confused state of mind, I started off the week thinking that I wanted to do some rustic autumnal colour pallettes, I did 2 small ones, then changed my mind and decided I wanted light pale colours with some bright in there, I did 1 then decided I wanted to do all bright colours, I did 4 bright coloured ones but felt they weren't really 'me' *sigh*....oh the joys of having a crazy artsy brain eh?
Well anyway here are the paintings from this week's confused state of mind, I hope you like them :o)
I love the colour of this kitty, in my newest paint colour....Liquitex - turquoise deep ...yummy!!
Wilma's blue cat:
This girly reminds me of someone, but I can't think who and it's driving me crazy, is it someone I know? someone famous?....I just can't figure it out, lol
Janice:
I've been trying out some new colour combinations, I really like this blue and yellow together.
She dreams of far away places: SOLD THANK YOU!!
Sadie looks like a heap of fun, I love her dress and after I painted this I really felt an urge to eat spicy food lol ;o)
Sadie's dance class: SOLD THANK YOU!!
There is so much I love about this painting, even though it doesn't feel like 'me' I love it anyway.
Paradise:
This lady popped in my head yesterday and demanded to be painted immediately, she was quite amusing and I like to call her......
Bossy Brenda:
This is my favourite of the week, even though she is small she packs a punch with her unusual colour palette, I just love her face :o)
Sofia ornament:

Well I hope you enjoyed my weekly update, all the above paintings are now available in my etsy shop, if you wish to purchase, or just to look at more piccies ;o)

Finishing so many pieces when in that confused state is amazing! Tha turquoise really does pack a punch.....so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI think Sadie's palette is my fave...though I agree, Sofia's face is just so soulful :)
Wonderful work, Micki...you're my art hero...heehee!
Love your girls. Yes the yellow and blue is particularly nice, but I secretly want a red and white polka dot outfit - wouldn't that be fun? or even a green ruffled skirt?
ReplyDeleteI love all the colors combinations! I get stuck with my same color pallets a lot. I was using a lot of Folk Art Seamist in my paintings for a while. I like the girl with the owl on her head and how you used green around her eyes~ Do you still use paper on top of your canvases, under the paint? I detect some interesting textures! Have a great day :)
ReplyDeleteLove the image with the cat in the hair. Bossy Brenda looks like someone I used to work for!! x
ReplyDeleteWow, so many different characters in one week. They are all fabulous! Love the colour combo's. My favs are Sadie's dance class and bosy brenda. I love the names you give your paintings.
ReplyDeleteSome of your best--stay in the confused state of mind. Yellow and Blue---really fun.
ReplyDeleteI just love these girls. They are fantastic, love the colors, and that little owl sitting on one of the girl's head...adorable!
ReplyDeleteThey are all so lovely! You do well when you are confused. Ironic but true.
ReplyDeleteEven though you were confused, everything turned out fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI love them all as always! The turquoise is wonderful, think I have that one too ;o) I think Sadie is my favorite, she seems about to say something profound. xo Michele

ReplyDeleteWow! I'd love to be confused if I was able to create so many pieces. You've been busy again I see. They all are so YOU. Love them. I really look forward to seeing what you create each post. Keep up the awesome and inspiring work.
ReplyDeleteKyles :D
aw, they are so very cute! I do the same thing with color inspiration...sometimes the paintings just lead you their own way!~
ReplyDeleteYou are so very FAST!! It takes me all week to turn out a couple of paintings! I love them all, such different personalities. The one with the blue cat reminds me of Bette Midler!
ReplyDeleteYou're not confused... you're flexible! I love all the different palettes. Love that blue and yellow too! And Sadie is fantastic!!

I LOVE your use of color Micki! It seems so many people live in neutral decor, me included and I think that's why I just LOVE to use bright, funky colors in my art. I think it lets us be who we want to be in our art worlds :) Your work always inspires!!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Micki--these are just so wonderful--the color choices are great and these girls!! I am loving your Micki style!
