Yesterday was a really dark and gloomy day and I was feeling rather moody which I shall blame on my ladies monthlies ;o)
Well anyway this is what I painted, she's a style of girly that I used to paint ages ago and for some reason made a reappearance on my canvas board, I thought I had moved away from this type of girly but obviously not, she decided to revisit, i'm not sure I like her, maybe i'm still being moody? who knows? I do love the background and all the textures, but I just feel this type of girly is not me? if that makes any sense? i'm clearly waffling on today so I shall just say that she is available now in my etsy shop.
ta ta for now
Micki x
Everything in her world has changed:
Ladies monthlies! Lol. :)
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw her I thought she was an older style Micki painting. I like her! I love the background too. :)
Hugs to you sweetie pie!
Hi Micki! I know the feeling - moody days can transport me back to a former version of myself. It's really weird - until I realize that this is no longer me... I still love this girly. And the texture is amazing!! Love, Silke
ReplyDeleteI think she is an evolved version of your older girls. She is like a mix of old and new. I like her alot. I like the shading of her nose. I had to look up who Kenneth Williams was, and you aRE SO RIGHT. hA HA
ReplyDeleteMicki, you are so cute! I don't know how your older paintings looked, so I can't comment on that, but I can say, I think she is beautiful! I love the depth of colour! Take Care!
ReplyDeleteMaking art when moody is so good, though....it gets a lot of the blahs out of your system :)
ReplyDeleteThe background here is fantastic, I agree... The darker, muddier palette you used for her does set the tone so well....makes me wonder what has hapened in her world to make her appear as such? Hmmm....
Hey Micki its great to revisit I do it now and again shes lovely as for ladys probs I totally understand its the only time I feel down it sucks xx but painting helps thank god we have a distraction x
ReplyDeleteOMG Micki - this WAS me a couple of years ago. And yes, when I'm moody she still represents all I am stuggling to work through. Amazing how you captured this emotion so perfectly. She is darker than your usual art but this just proves that you can tap in to your emotions and create from that wealth of feeling! Hugs, Jessi xox
