It's true, I do love feeding ducks and that is exactly what me, the hubby and the kids have been doing for the past few weekends.
On Sundays it is our 'Family day' where we get to go out some where together, just the 4 of us (and the doggy too if it's outside) well we have had lots of fun taking our left over bread to give to the ducks and last weekend was the best one yet.
We met a duck who we lovingly called 'sqeaky' and everytime we gave it some bread it made a sqeaky sound like a 'thank you', you can only imagine how my 7 year old daughter reacted to this, she instantly wanted to bundle it up and take it home to keep for ever and ever and ever......you get the picture ;o)
Well we couldn't take the ducky home with us but I did do 2 paintings with ducks in as a reminder of our fun.
I hope you like them.
They are both in my Etsy shop now :O)

I love feeding ducks

love them i also feed the ducks in a park across the road from me, they were especially grateful when it was freezing poor things all huddled together all the ponds were frozen bless xx
ReplyDeleteLove love love both of these.
ReplyDeleteYou would love where we live - we have a pond in our garden complete with ducklings at the moment and then if you stroll down the wee hill, there is a big lake chock filled with ducks and their babies. The darks come up the hill and wander down our street stopping at houses where they know the owners will come out with bread. :) Kayla would think it is fabulous!
Those are really cute, Micki! I know it wasn't intentional, but certainly a glimpse into what you're into right now....but did you notice how absolutely perfectly they mimic the same palette in your blog background? Showcases these 2 new cuties So darn well :D
ReplyDeleteI especially like the bottom one with all that yummy texture behind it!
Claire - we started going when it was icy as the poor duckies were cold and hungry, we felt really sorry for them all huddled up together, poor things!!
ReplyDeleteMichele - I just read Kayla your comment, to which she replied "can we go and see her please?" lol... hmm lets see, we'll just pop on a plane now and fly for half a day to see some duckies, I think not ;) bless her!!
Cameron - I so had not even noticed lol.. you are on the ball with that one lady ;) I am so desperate for a hint of spring but we've got ages yet *sigh*
I love them both, but especially the second one. How ace is that pull-along duck?!

ReplyDeleteThat is just too sweet.... I love feeding ducks too, but haven't in a long while. I might go and see if our favorite duck is still there - she has a special hair-do and is very unique.
