In the Bleak Midwinter

As you may have guessed already I am NOT loving this silly snow and ice we have in the UK right now!!

It may look all pretty from inside the house but when you are outside.....Not good!!

I fail to see how others can be happy in this weather, i'm officially having a grump ;o)

Anyway it is clearly affecting my artwork as the title of this piece shows :)

In The bleak Midwinter:

Baby it's cold outside

I just couldn't help myself, it's far too cold to be thinking of warm things.....sigh!!

FFFFFFFFFreeeezing!!!!!

It is so cold here in my part of the UK at the moment, we are at about -3C today and with a light snow on the ground!! I don't like it one bit!!

Winter has started so early here this year apparently the last time we had snow at this time of year was 17 years ago!!

I have obviously been trying to ignore the cold weather and think warm thoughts, this has come out in my latest 2 paintings, the first one was helped along by the recent blog post from Karen and her trip to Maui, I love the sea and her photos were quite inspiring for me, but notice my girly is still wrapped up warm lol!!

The second painting is my thoughts of how I will feel when spring finally arrives, I love that time of year the most!!

Both these paintings are now in my Etsy shop and if you hadn't already visited I also have a sale section in there too which will end on December 6th

Busy time!!

It's all busy busy around here again, kids getting ready for christmas shows, costumes to find, my sons birthday is in 2 weeks, christmas shopping days, last minute dentist appointments, phew it never ends at this time of year!!

Just in case you missed my last post, I have opened up a SALE section in my Etsy shop for some of my paintings and moleskines these will all be on sale until December the 6th then they will no longer be available as i'm having a clearout of my work :o)

Tis the season for wonderland

No i'm not talking about a winter wonderland i'm talking about Alice in wonderland ;o)

All that seasonal cold British air is making me escape into cozy film watching and Alice is one of mine and my daughters favourites!!

Well here they are the last 4 aceo cards I will be making until after Christmas, it's been a heap of fun making these little cards but I have lots of commissions on before Christmas and some bigger paintings to make for my Etsy shop too, so for now this is it.

I decided the last 4 should be my 'hat' girls as they are my most favourite types of girls to paint.

They are all available in my Etsy shop now, so catch em while you can ;)

So half of my pile of Aceo cards are done and i've just put them in to my Etsy shop along with a 5x7 inch canvas board painting I did too :)

I am working on the rest of the Aceo cards today and Saturday so they should be in my Etsy shop by Sunday!!

Yep it's serious I have caught the bug!!

I have nothing to show you today but I have a pile of 16 yes I said 16, Aceo cards drawn up and ready to paint, there are angels, affirmation girlies and some funky christmas ones too.

After all of that I seriously need to do some bigger paintings and get back into the flow again :)

Last of the owls for now

Phew thats a whole lotta owls!!

So my mum came round at 10am this morning to take both the kids off my hands for me and they won't be back until 6pm tonight, so whats a girl to do?.....Paint ;o)

With now only one hour left to go until the kids are back, I thought i'd better blog todays work while I can.

So for the past few days i've had one or both my kids off ill from school, first my son with a cold and then my daughter with a water infection, she is still off today *sigh* it's been a crazy week and my head has been a bit all over the place hence the 2 completely different types of paintings done in the past couple of days lol ;)

The first one was a Christmas themed one and the second a robot girl!!?

Ah well at least I got them done eh? even if it was at night time when I did most of the work.

Ice queen

Hi guys!!

Phew it's been a busy couple of days, I have had lots of sales in my Etsy shop and custom orders are coming in too, it's nice to be this busy :)

Quite clearly I still don't have this Ice queen thing out of my system yet ;)
I decided to paint a larger painting over the last 2 days and here is the outcome.

She is on a 'Loxley gold' chunky canvas, since first painting on these canvases a year or so ago I would not use anything else now, I love them!!

She is 14x10 inches and 1 1/2 inches deep at the sides.

She is in my Etsy shop now :)
