fun with mixed media

I've had tons of fun over the last couple of days playing with various mixed media and coming up with these 2 paintings, I have also covered up another 5 wood canvases ready for painting, so I can't wait to get started on those too!!

I've been wanting to do a range of cake paintings for a while now.

I loved the texture in the ones I did before but it still wasn't what I had in mind, it has taken me ages to come up with the exact way I want them to look so i'm hoping you guys will like them after all the effort it took me lol ;)

What a day

Today has been one of those days where everything went wrong, it first started when I got my new bank card through the post which had the wrong name on it, then paypal had a problem because my card details were different and blocked my bank card and whole account, which ended up in me having 4 phone calls to the bank and 3 to paypal to sort it out.

Upshot is I had to cancel my card and my paypal and start it over again all because of a silly clerical error from my bank....*sigh*....I still have to wait 7 days for my new card to come through before I can rejoin paypal as well.....this may have a knock on effect and my Etsy shop opening may be a week or 2 later than I had planned on, which would be typical as I announced on my blog only yesterday when the date would be!!

Anyway rant over!!!!

UPDATE!!

I finally have an official date for when my Etsy shop will open (when goodies will be put in there)

It will be open for business as of Monday 21st June

I will be hosting my usual weekly painting giveaways until that date....on that date will be a special bumper suprise fun pack giveaway to celebrate the opening of my Etsy shop then after that I will be hosting a monthly (no more weekly) giveaway of a print of my work.

A sneaky peek at something new

Hi guys!!

As you all know i've been busy making items for my new etsy shop (which will be properly opening in about 4 weeks from now)

As well as my paintings there will be some other new and interesting items in there for sale too.

One of those days (again)

The day started off fine, got the kids up and out of bed, breakfast, dressed then......OUCH!!!!

My daughter managed to injure her knee and couldn't go to school, I don't know what she did to it but she was in agony and her little face went green, I thought she was going to be sick poor girl!!

A couple of hours later she needed the bathroom and started to walk (hobble) when something in her knee went "POP" it was a horrible noise and she was in pain when it happened but then said the pop made her knee feel better?????

I have no idea what she had done but she is fine again now and has been running around this afternoon like nothing happened....Kids eh? how quick they get over things...I just hope it's not something that will happen again??

Anyway I did manage to get this little painting done this afternoon (it had been pencilled on and ready to paint for a day or 2) I used an old book page from a 1920's story book I have (that is falling to pieces I might add)

Hi guys it's that time of week again, i've been a little bit quiet this past week because I was preparing for my brothers wedding which was at the weekend and was absolutely fantastic, i'm sure I will do a post in a few weeks with some photos of that day because everything was truly stunning, the weather was perfect and my brother and his new wife looked amazing!!

My son was the ring bearer and my daughter the flower girl so I was a very proud mum all day too :)

Another artful day

Another 2 paintings finished today both on canvas board and finished with a lovely gloss varnish!!

The first one is a little gothy girl called Betty she is on an 8x10 inch canvas board, then the second is a mermaid girl on a 5x7 inch canvas board!!

A busy day painting away

Well I sure have been busy today, I managed to get three 6x6 inch paintings done!!

I don't know if those of you that followed my old blog remember? but I made a heap of artist trading cards a while back and they all had some super cute little animal characters on, well they were quite popular so I decided to make some of them into small paintings, these are the first three of the bunch, there will be more to come in a while.

About time for some art I think

Well I think it's about time I started showing some art on this blog seeing as it's mainly an art blog and all ;-)

She is going to live in my front room (when it's decorated because it still isn't *sigh*)

so I have painted her in colours to suit that room but i'll probably cut her out in photoshop and put a brighter background on for avatar purposes, as this comes across a little too dark in small size!!

Behind the scenes

I've been working my butt off over the last day or 2 getting heaps of paperwork all sorted and preparing new goodies for my Etsy Shop opening in June/July, there will be lots of new items in there as well as my paintings, I will also be opening a Folksy shop too hopefully around July/August which will be full of goodies and original paintings.
